The mint julep is a spirit-based beverage typically served over ice. But this version gives it an extra touch of Mexican flavor in honor of Cinco de Mayo - complete with mezcal, jalapenos, and brown sugar!
Ingredients
2 oz. Mezcal
- 4-5 pcs. Mint leaves
- 1 tsp. Brown sugar
- 4-5 Drops of water
- Crushed ice
- Jalapeño slices for garnish
- Bunch of mint leaves for garnish
Directions
Add brown sugar and water to a rocks glass or julep cup.
- Stir the sugar and water until it starts to dissolve.
- Add the mint leaves. Press the mint and sugar together.
- Fill the glass with crushed ice, add the mezcal, and stir until chilled.
- Top with jalapeno slices and a bunch of mint leaves.
