The mint julep is a spirit-based beverage typically served over ice. But this version gives it an extra touch of Mexican flavor in honor of Cinco de Mayo - complete with mezcal, jalapenos, and brown sugar!

Mexican Mint Julep

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Add brown sugar and water to a rocks glass or julep cup.

  2. Stir the sugar and water until it starts to dissolve.
  3. Add the mint leaves. Press the mint and sugar together.
  4. Fill the glass with crushed ice, add the mezcal, and stir until chilled.
  5. Top with jalapeno slices and a bunch of mint leaves.
