Miami Vice Drink: The Only Vice You Should Indulge In
Inspired by an 80’s television program of the same title, Miami Vice Drink is actually a fusion of two equally refreshing drinks - Strawberry Daiquiri and Piña Colada.
The fresh fruits used in this cocktail are sweet and refreshing to lessen the rum’s intense flavors. It can effectively serve as a dessert because of its creamy and deliciously sweet flavors, further heightened by strawberries and pineapples’ aroma.
The Rise to Fame
Miami Vice Drink is famous in the La Altagracia Province in the Dominican Republic. Simultaneously, in the US, it is most popular in Florida, Mississippi, Wisconsin, South Carolina, and Kentucky.
In a published online article, Miami Vice Drink was hailed by the author as one of the best dessert/drinks for 2019 in Florida. It was also featured as one of the drinks for the week in an eclectic but premier barbeque bar in Southern California.
In a blender, add one oz of rum and 1 cup of strawberries, lime juice, and 1 cup crushed ice.
Blend until smooth.
Pour in agoblet glass and store it in the freezer.
Wash the blender and dry thoroughly.
Add 1 oz. rum, cream of coconut, pineapple juice, and 1 cup crushed ice into the clean blender.
Blend until smooth.
Pour into the hurricane glass filled with Strawberry Daiquiri.
Garnish with a pineapple slice. Serve with a straw.
Note: If you have two blenders, you can make both drinks simultaneously. You can pour it together, so instead of layered, the individual drinks will be side by side.
For the Piña Colada, add all the ingredients into the clean blender.
Blend until smooth.
Pour into the hurricane glass filled with Strawberry Daiquiri.
Garnish with a pineapple wedge. Serve with two straws.
