Exotic liquors have names of origins unique to particular areas worldwide, with a one-of-a-kind taste and vibe. What is Peanut Butter Whiskey?

Peanut butter whiskey is described as a particular type of liquor that has a peanut or peanut butter flavoring at its core. Many people find its taste to be distinctive and often consume it as a shot. However, it could also be drizzled on top of ice cream or used as a cocktail ingredient.

The History of Peanut Butter Whiskey

In the 1960s and the 1970s, it was said that a thick, peanut-based whiskey was produced and given the name Peanut Lolita. It’s a liquor made by a company in Linksfield, Pennsylvania, known as Continental Distilling. Despite this information, a company located in San Diego, California, claimed to have invented it.

This company is named Skrewball, which produces a 70-proof spirit that celebrates the warm peanut butter flavor in all the whiskeys it puts out. They began running and purveying this exotic liquor to the public in July 2018. People describe Skrewball’s whiskey as thick, authentic, and strong in its peanut butter flavor.

Two other liquor-producing companies have jumped on the bandwagon as history progressed. Roughly two years after Skrewball began in Brown Country, Tennessee, in November of 2020, a company named Hard Truth Distilling Co introduced the production of peanut butter whiskey

Also, in the same month and year, peanut butter whiskey was introduced at Ole Smoky Distillery in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. The polarizing pairing of peanut butter and whiskey is owed to its rich history and everyone contributing to its growth.

Peanut Butter Whiskey Awards

Many people around the world have grown to love peanut butter whiskeys. As producers have started distributing their products internationally, the global footprint of this exotic liquor has grown. Its widespread consumption has contributed to the various awards that peanut butter whiskey has been receiving since its launch.

Skrewball’s peanut butter whiskey was awarded a double gold medal for having the best flavor at the New York World Wine and Spirits Competition. This whiskey also continued to acquire this same double gold medal for having the best taste at this same competition the following year. These occurred in August 2018 and December 2019.

Ole Smoky Distillery’s peanut butter whiskey also achieved various awards since it began production. The liquor received ten widely known spirits awards in the year 2020.

The scent is often described as appetizing and highly sweet. The refined aroma attached to peanut butter whiskey makes it unique and distinguishable from other types of whiskies.

Many people say that when they drink peanut butter whiskey, the thick and syrup-like texture coats their tongues, allowing one to soak in all the liquor flavors. Considered to be the perfect blend of sweetness and strength, others also describe it as a dessert whiskey, usually drunk on light-hearted occasions.

Ingredients and Health Benefits

Peanut butter whiskey tends to celebrate authentic ingredients and flavors, making it one of America’s most popular 70-proof whiskies. It’s made from barley and corn, which undergo thorough production stages. It’s also enhanced with various natural flavors that are usually particular to every production and distilling company. Pure cane sugar is used to sweeten it.

When some people consume anything, they always try to make sure that it is beneficial to their health. Peanut butter whiskey is vegan and gluten-free, which contributes to its distinctive profile and unique qualities.
