What does Razzmatazz mean?
The word “razzmatazz” is derived from the word “razzle-dazzle”. It means an act of showiness that either impresses or distracts people. Despite this meaning, as to how the raspberry liqueur is named after it, has something to with the color that is also called “razzmatazz” which is a pink-purplish hue that resembles the color of the liqueur. Fresh raspberries have a red color, obviously, but somehow the raspberry liqueur has a deep red color that has an almost purple shade.
How much alcohol content does Razzmatazz liqueur have?
Dekuyper is the brand that makes the Razzmatazz raspberry liqueur. The Razzmatazz liqueur is 33 proof and has 16.5% alcohol by volume (ABV), so it is not as strong as other spirits.
What is the difference between a raspberry vodka and a raspberry liqueur (Razzmatazz)?
They differ on the type of alcohol that they are. The first one is a raspberry-flavored vodka ad has a higher alcohol content (35% ABV). On the other hand, Razzmatazz or any raspberry liqueur is made from real raspberries with additional flavors, sugar and a distilled spirit. It is almost syrupy and sweet. They also differ in color since raspberry vodka is colorless and raspberry liqueur has a red-purplish color.
Is Razzmatazz liqueur similar to Chambord?
Yes, in a sense that they are both raspberry liqueurs. Chambord makes use of red and black raspberries and its base is cognac whereas Razzmatazz uses neutral grain spirits. Chambord is also more expensive because it has higher end ingredients, making it a sought-after liqueur for cocktails. But this doesn’t mean that Razzmatazz is not good. If you want something less expensive and can also make awesome cocktails, you can definitely use Razzmatazz.
Among the many fruity cocktails, there is nothing like the Razzmatazz drink. It is pretty new so it is open to many possibilities.
