I was surprised with the product durability as it did not shatter while the wine was poured into it. The decanter effectively contained all of the wine inside of it, unlike my old wine colander, which tended to leak wine all over the table and floor, which really affects the taste, texture, and quality.We all know wine can be a little shy, but this decanter helped introduce a lot of air to the wine and now they're really good friends. I'll admit I'm a little jealous, but they're really good for… each other.When the wine needs its privacy, this product comes with a cork stopper that is very easy to use. Sometimes it can be a bit tricky to place a sphere into an opening, but with a little training using a shape sorter box (props to my mom for helping me to achieve this skillset from a young age), you can master this decanter's cork stopper in no time!Lastly, the decanter came with beads and my decanter really seems to like them. I would say more about it, but would prefer to keep this PG.But all in all, good quality and nice value for the money spent. If you broke into my house and stole mine, I would definitely reorder this... unless you're looking for a second one, then no, I didn't reorder this but maybe check my neighbor's place? Considering how loud he can be, he seems like he knows how to have a good time, and can you really have a good time without one of these decanters? Probably not so check his place instead.

I decided to save a few bucks and purchase through the second life program. Currently this carafe sells for $39.95, but through the second life program I paid 23 bucks. I am very pleased with the purchase. Other than some smudges that easily wiped off the carafe looks brand new. There are no residue aromas to the cork ball nor the carafe. I'm pretty sure it was never exposed to wine. The carafe glass is flawless. No chips whatsoever. The quality of the carafe is average. While the neck is thic…k the bell itself feels thin. When washing you definitely want to take care not to hit it against anything. The unit arrived in the retail box, which was no surprise since other reviewers indicated that is how they received theirs. I took the picture of the carafe, the beads and the cork ball between a row in my vineyard - I thought a related background might add a little je ne sais quio. So far I have had very good experiences purchasing through the second life program.

We bought two. One as a gift and one for us. This hand blown crystal decanter is a beautiful item, and works really well. It also comes with a small jar of cleaning beads, so it washes up well after an evening of lots of good red wine. We also got a decanter hanger for drying. Cleans up beautiful, spot free, then boxed and put away for next time. Excellent gift. Shipped quickly and the package was very sturdy. I would highly recommend this wine decanter.
